ED raids 40 sites in Maharashtra, seizes Rs 9.7 crore linked to ISIS module.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted extensive raids across over 40 locations in Maharashtra and other states, targeting an ISIS-linked module, leading to the seizure of assets valued at approximately Rs 9.7 crore, including Rs 3.7 crore in cash and gold worth Rs 6 crore. The operation revealed a network involved in terrorism financing, recruitment, and illegal activities, including the clandestine harvesting and smuggling of Kaith wood, with proceeds allegedly funneled into extremist operations. These findings underscore the importance of counter-terrorism financing efforts and the need for inter-agency cooperation in dismantling radicalised networks. The ED’s actions reflect a robust national security strategy, aimed at curtailing the operational capacity of extremist factions and enhancing India’s defenses against radicalisation.
