Nation honors security personnel on 2001 Parliament attack anniversary, reaffirming commitment to combat terrorism.

On the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, leaders across party lines and families of martyrs paid tribute to the security personnel who sacrificed their lives defending India’s democratic institution. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju emphasized the nation’s enduring gratitude, recalling the bravery of those who responded to the attack, which claimed 14 lives, including that of Constable Kamlesh Kumari, who was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra for her valor. President Droupadi Murmu reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to combating terrorism, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior officials participated in the commemorations, underlining the attack’s brutal assault on India’s sovereignty and the critical importance of honoring those who protect it.
