India and Brunei have taken a significant step in their defense relationship by establishing the Joint Working Group (JWG) on Defence Cooperation, which convened for the first time in New Delhi on December 9, 2025. The discussions focused on enhancing military engagement, maritime security, and cooperation in defense technology and industry, with a strong emphasis on securing sea lanes and improving joint training.
