Tata Advanced Systems, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, has commenced the construction of a new Defence Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in India to support the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft. This development underscores India’s growing confidence and capability in defense self-sufficiency, as the facility will enhance in-country maintenance and readiness for the Indian Air Force while creating opportunities for regional and global support. The state-of-the-art facility, expected to be operational by early 2027, aims to provide comprehensive maintenance services, including heavy repairs and upgrades, thereby reinforcing India’s aerospace ecosystem and bolstering strategic partnerships in defense manufacturing. This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment to the “Make in India” vision and aims to strengthen the U.S.-India defense relationship.
