Sri Lanka Appreciates Indian Troops for Cyclone Relief Efforts
Following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah in late November 2025, Sri Lanka has expressed profound gratitude to India for its swift and generous relief efforts under Operation Sagar Bandhu. Sri Lankan leaders, including former Foreign Minister Ali Sabry and Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra, publicly thanked India for its rapid deployment of rescue teams, medical personnel, and vital supplies. The Sri Lankan Police and High Commissioner to India also conveyed deep appreciation for India’s helicopter rescue missions, delivery of over 53 tons of relief materials, and continuous support during this critical time. The heartfelt thanks underscore the enduring friendship and strong ties between the two neighboring countries. The people of Sri Lanka view India’s assistance as a clear demonstration of its commitment to regional solidarity and neighborly goodwill, reinforcing India’s image as a reliable and trusted partner in the face of humanitarian crises.
