GSL delivers ICGS Amulya, enhancing Indian Coast Guard's patrol fleet.

The Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has successfully handed over the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Amulya, enhancing the operational capabilities of India’s maritime security forces. The vessel, measuring 51.43 metres and powered by advanced marine diesel engines, boasts a top speed of over 27 knots and is designed for versatile roles including fisheries protection, EEZ surveillance, and anti-piracy operations. This development not only underscores GSL’s strategic contribution to India’s coastal defense but also reinforces the Make in India initiative by bolstering domestic shipbuilding capabilities. As GSL continues to expand its expertise, the induction of such Fast Patrol Vessels significantly strengthens the Indian Coast Guard’s readiness to address maritime security challenges along India’s extensive coastline.
