The Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has successfully handed over the Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Amulya, enhancing the operational capabilities of India’s maritime security forces. The vessel, measuring 51.43 metres and powered by advanced marine diesel engines, boasts a top speed of over 27 knots and is designed for versatile roles including fisheries protection, EEZ surveillance, and anti-piracy operations. This development not only underscores GSL’s strategic contribution to India’s coastal defense but also reinforces the Make in India initiative by bolstering domestic shipbuilding capabilities.
