SIA Raids Srinagar Homes in 1990 Kashmiri Pandit Murder Case

The J&K State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted raids at eight locations in Srinagar related to the 1990 murder of Sarla Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit nurse, highlighting ongoing efforts to address historical injustices against the community. Bhat’s killing was part of a broader campaign to drive out Pandits, leading to their mass exodus and suffering. The J&K government is now working to reclaim Pandit properties and facilitate their return, though many still live as refugees. This situation underscores the need for continued vigilance and support for the rights of marginalized communities in Jammu and Kashmir while restoring law and order in the region.
