Indian Army embraces AI with new Handbook, EKAM, and PRAKSHEPAN initiatives.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled several significant technological initiatives aimed at advancing the Indian Army’s capabilities in artificial intelligence and digital warfare. The release of the AI Handbook for Military Leaders aims to guide commanders in navigating AI advancements, while Project EKAM, developed under iDEX ADITI 2.0, focuses on indigenous AI capabilities tailored for military applications. Additionally, Digitalisation 3.0 showcases various digitisation and AI-enabled solutions to enhance operational efficiency. The launch of PRAKSHEPAN, an advanced military climatology application, further highlights the Army’s commitment to integrating high-tech solutions for better disaster preparedness and operational readiness. These initiatives underscore a strategic shift towards indigenisation and enhanced battlefield responsiveness, reinforcing India’s pursuit of technological self-reliance in defense.
