Indian Navy showcases guided-missile corvettes for public viewing in Kolkata.

The Indian Navy is showcasing its advanced capabilities by allowing public access to two of its guided-missile corvettes, INS Khanjar and INS Kora, at Kidderpore Dock in Kolkata from Friday to Sunday. This initiative provides a unique opportunity for citizens, especially students, to explore operational warships that are integral to India’s maritime defense strategy. INS Khanjar, affiliated with the Kumaon and Naga Regiments, and INS Kora, named after a traditional Gurkha sword, are each over 90 meters long and equipped for precise surface strikes and operational support for helicopters. This event underscores the Navy’s commitment to enhancing public awareness and pride in India’s naval forces while fostering a deeper connection between the military and the community.
