ITBP to set up 10 all-women border outposts at LAC.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is set to establish 10 all-women border outposts along the India-China Line of Actual Control as part of its forwardisation strategy, which has already increased the number of forward-deployed border outposts to 215. This initiative follows the 2020 military clash in Ladakh, emphasizing the ITBP’s robust response to enhance security along the 3,488 km-long border. With the recent sanction of seven additional battalions, the force is also focusing on specialized training, including mountain warfare and tactical survival, to adapt to the challenging terrain. The inclusion of women combatants in these roles marks a significant step towards diversifying the operational capabilities of the ITBP and strengthening national security.
