L&T aims for $1 billion in defense revenue this fiscal year.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) aims to achieve a $1 billion revenue milestone in its defence sector, closely aligned with the Indian government’s push for defence modernisation and localisation. With an increased local procurement mandate of 75%, L&T’s defence revenue saw a 53% rise in the first half of the fiscal year, bolstered by a robust order book that includes contracts for the K9 Vajra-T self-propelled howitzers. The company is also expanding its naval shipbuilding capabilities and investing in defence technology innovations. This growth trajectory places L&T as a significant player in India’s defence industry, reflecting broader trends towards self-reliance and enhanced manufacturing capabilities amid global geopolitical shifts.
