Minister Yadav and China's envoy discuss climate cooperation and big cat conservation.

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav met with China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change to emphasize the necessity of enhanced cooperation between India and China on climate action during COP30. He addressed the importance of wildlife conservation, particularly big cats, as critical for ecological balance and climate resilience. Yadav warned that declines in big cat populations destabilize ecosystems, highlighting their role in carbon sequestration and overall ecosystem health. India plans to host a Global Big Cats Summit in 2026, aiming to foster international collaboration on conservation efforts, reflecting India’s broader strategy of integrating ecological preservation with climate initiatives while upholding the Paris Agreement.
