BSF neutralizes 255 Pakistani drones this year, enhancing border security.

The Border Security Force (BSF) has neutralised 255 drones from Pakistan this year, which were primarily used for smuggling heroin and weapons, according to Inspector General Atul Fulzele. In preparation for the fog season, which typically hampers visibility and facilitates smuggling, the BSF is enhancing surveillance and monitoring riverine areas while conducting joint checks with Punjab Police to prevent illegal activities. This year alone, the BSF has intercepted 329 kg of heroin, 16 kg of methamphetamine, 191 weapons, and apprehended 240 Indian smugglers alongside 19 Pakistani nationals engaged in cross-border crimes. Such proactive measures underscore India’s commitment to securing its borders and countering smuggling threats effectively.
