Embraer relocates C-390 assembly from Saudi Arabia to UAE for strategic advantage.

On November 17, 2025, Embraer announced a strategic shift, opting to establish a final assembly and completion center for the C-390 Millennium military airlifter in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) instead of Saudi Arabia. This decision was influenced by an assessment that the region could not support two such facilities, despite Embraer’s ongoing relations with Saudi Arabia. By collaborating with Emirati companies such as AMMROC and GAL, Embraer aims to enhance its regional presence and aircraft sustainment capabilities. This move underscores the competitive landscape for military airlifters in the Middle East, particularly affecting Saudi Arabia’s search for a new airlifter amidst growing interest in alternatives like the Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules.
