Assam Rifles and Customs disrupt Pakistan-linked cocaine trafficking in Tripura.

In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Assam Rifles and the Customs Department dismantled a Pakistan-linked cocaine syndicate in Tripura, seizing 800 grams of high-purity cocaine valued at nearly Rs 8 crore and arresting two drug peddlers. The operation, based on credible intelligence, highlighted the syndicate’s cross-border smuggling routes from Pakistan into India, with further plans to traffic the drugs into Bangladesh and Southeast Asia. Concurrently, a large-scale operation targeting illegal cannabis cultivation in Tripura led to the destruction of nearly 12 lakh semi-mature cannabis plants, valued at around Rs 50 crore, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to combat drug-related issues in the region and protect public safety. These actions reflect the relentless efforts of Indian forces to curb drug trafficking and promote a drug-free society in the Northeast.
