Chhattisgarh ATS detains two teens for alleged ISIS affiliations.

The Chhattisgarh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) detained two teenagers in Raipur on November 18, 2025, for alleged links with the Islamic State (ISIS), Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma announced. The investigation revealed that the minors were influenced by a Pakistan-based ISIS module that directed their activities on social media through fake Instagram accounts. These handlers systematically radicalised the youths in encrypted group chats, encouraging them to spread ISIS propaganda and violent content, and to establish an ISIS foothold within Chhattisgarh. This marks the first such case in the state, prompting plans to expand the ATS team across Raipur and other key cities. The youths were charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967. Authorities emphasized sustained cyber surveillance to counter such threats amid concerns over external terror modules exploiting online platforms to destabilize India’s internal security. Vigilance against extremist content on social media has been urged.
