Top Maoist leader Madvi Hidma neutralized, boosting security forces' operations in Andhra Pradesh.

Top Maoist commander Madvi Hidma, one of India’s most wanted Naxal leaders linked to at least 26 deadly attacks, was killed along with his wife Raje and four other cadres in an encounter in the Maredumilli forests of Alluri Sitarama Raju district of Andhra Pradesh on the morning of 18 November 2025, near the Chhattisgarh-Andhra border. Security forces recovered six bodies and a large cache of weapons, including around 47 AK-series rifles, as well as explosives indicating plans for a major attack along inter-state borders. Hidma, a Central Committee member of CPI (Maoist) and former PLGA battalion commander from Sukma district, was accused of orchestrating the 2010 Dantewada massacre, the 2013 Jhiram Valley attack, the 2017 Sukma assault on CRPF personnel, and the 2021 Sukma-Bijapur ambush. His elimination, which came ahead of a 30 November deadline set by security agencies, was described by Bastar Inspector General P. Sundarraj as a decisive advantage for security forces and a major setback for Maoist operations across the Dandakaranya region and beyond
