India's AMCA Fighter Program to Complete First Test Specimen by 2027
India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program is progressing well, with the first structural test specimen expected to be ready by 2027. This engineering replica will undergo rigorous ground-based validation to ensure the aircraft’s structural integrity and performance, crucial for developing the nation’s most advanced indigenous fighter. The program, overseen by the Aeronautical Development Agency and supported by the Cabinet Committee on Security, aims for the first flying prototype to be rolled out around 2028, with induction into the Indian Air Force anticipated between 2032 and 2033. The AMCA’s design emphasizes stealth and advanced technologies, reflecting India’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities and self-reliance in military aviation.
