ADA seeks private firms' support to integrate key sensors into Tejas Mk2.

The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) of India is seeking collaboration from private firms to integrate critical sensor systems—Infra-Red Search & Track (IRST), Software Defined Radio (SDR), and Combined Interrogator & Transponder (CIT)—into the Tejas Mk2 aircraft. This initiative aims to expedite the aircraft’s development, ensuring rigorous testing and certification processes are met ahead of its first flight scheduled for early 2026. The sensors will enhance the Tejas Mk2’s capabilities, contributing to the Indian Air Force’s modernization efforts and reducing reliance on foreign technology, aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. By engaging a diverse range of firms, from large state-owned enterprises to MSMEs, the ADA aims to bolster the domestic aerospace ecosystem and uphold high standards of reliability and performance.
