Terrorism and Counterterrorism

Gujarat ATS arrests Gurpreet Singh for arms smuggling linked to Pakistan gang.

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi Billa, from Halol town in Panchmahal district on November 14, 2025, based on intelligence from the Punjab Police. Singh is wanted for his involvement in smuggling arms and grenades for a Pakistan-based terror network linked to ISI, aimed at executing grenade attacks in densely populated areas of Punjab and other states. The probe revealed masterminds Manu Agwan and Maninder Billa, currently in Malaysia, recruiting operatives in Punjab under ISI’s direction to spread terror. Singh, who was working as a factory laborer, confessed during interrogation to smuggling two grenades and two pistols for the planned attacks. He will be handed over to Punjab Police for further action. This operation highlights critical cross-state counter-terror cooperation and ongoing threats posed by foreign-backed terrorism to India’s internal security.
