An Indian Air Force (IAF) Pilatus PC-7 trainer aircraft crashed on November 14, 2025, around 2:50 p.m. near the Thiruporur-Nemmili Road close to Chennai, while conducting a routine training mission. Fortunately, the pilot successfully ejected and landed safely, avoiding any casualties on the ground. Local residents reported hearing a loud noise at the time of the crash, with the pilot parachuting near a high-tension power line, highlighting the potentially dangerous circumstances of the incident. An IAF helicopter subsequently airlifted the pilot to safety, and a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the crash, underscoring the IAF’s commitment to maintaining safety standards in its operations while ensuring the well-being of its personnel.
