Al-Falah University faces scrutiny over false accreditation amid Red Fort blast investigation.

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has issued a show-cause notice to Al-Falah University in Faridabad for falsely claiming accreditation while being unaccredited. This notice comes amid heightened scrutiny following a car blast near the Red Fort in Delhi on November 10, which resulted in multiple casualties and was linked to individuals associated with the university, including primary suspect Dr. Umar Un Nabi. Subsequently, the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) announced the immediate suspension of Al-Falah University’s membership, citing media reports that indicate the university is not in good standing. As a result of this suspension, Al-Falah University is prohibited from using the AIU name or logo in its activities. These developments raise significant concerns about potential links between academic institutions and extremist activities, highlighting the need for stringent oversight and accountability in the education sector to prevent the exploitation of academic platforms for nefarious purposes.
