HAL to Launch First HTT-40 Trainer Next Month for IAF Order
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to unveil the first indigenous HTT-40 trainer aircraft at its Nashik plant by mid-to-late September, marking a significant step in enhancing the Indian Air Force’s training capabilities. This rollout initiates the delivery process for an order of 70 units valued at approximately ₹6,800 crore, which will replace the ageing HPT-32 trainers. The HTT-40, featuring modern avionics and over 60% indigenous content, underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense manufacturing while benefiting local MSMEs. The initiative also showcases HAL’s expanding capabilities, reinforcing its role in both combat and training aircraft production for the IAF.
