MoCA Meeting Boosts Indigenous RTA-90 Aircraft Development Efforts
The Union Civil Aviation Minister chaired a meeting to strengthen India’s aviation manufacturing, emphasizing the development of the indigenous RTA-90 regional aircraft. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for Atmanirbhar Bharat, aiming to transition India from an aviation consumer to a producer. The RTA-90 could disrupt the Airbus-Boeing duopoly and enhance regional connectivity under the UDAN scheme, while leveraging India’s skilled workforce and resources. The collaborative effort among key organizations like HAL and NAL seeks to achieve full indigenization in the long term, thus bolstering economic growth and positioning India as a competitive player in the global aviation market.
