Delhi blast near Red Fort follows major explosives seizure in Faridabad.
Investigations into the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10 have revealed a complex terror module linked to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed group, recently busted in Faridabad. Authorities seized around 2,900 kilograms of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, along with arms and bomb-making materials from multiple Faridabad locations following joint operations by Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana police. The suspected suicide bomber, Dr. Umar Mohammad, a Kashmiri doctor connected to this network, is believed to have triggered the blast in panic after key associates, including doctors Dr. Mujammil Shakeel and Dr. Adil Rather, were arrested. The module is reported to involve several educated individuals operating across Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, with links also to the Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind terror outfit. Investigators are probing a broader plan for serial attacks across northern states with material stockpiled over years. In response, the National Investigation Agency has taken charge of the investigation while Union Home Minister Amit Shah is chairing multiple high-level meetings to coordinate a national crackdown and enhance security around key locations, including in Delhi and neighboring states.
