LAT Aerospace Launches 8-Seater Hybrid-Electric STOL Aircraft for Regional Connectivity
LAT Aerospace has introduced an innovative 8-seater hybrid-electric short takeoff and landing (STOL) aircraft concept aimed at enhancing regional connectivity across India’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. This aircraft, designed to operate from short and semi-prepared runways, leverages a hybrid propulsion system that combines electric propulsors with a turbo-generator, promising reduced emissions and lower operating costs. Currently in the conceptual phase, LAT Aerospace plans to produce a flyable prototype within a few years, with initial testing of critical components set to commence soon. This initiative not only targets the modernization of regional air transport but also aligns with India’s sustainable aviation objectives, potentially transforming last-mile connectivity and boosting tourism and logistics in underserved areas.
