INS Savitri's Mozambique visit strengthens maritime ties and cooperation.
Indian Naval Ship INS Savitri, an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), has arrived at Port Beira, Mozambique, enhancing bilateral maritime ties and showcasing India’s commitment as a security partner in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The ship received a ceremonial welcome from the Mozambique Navy, symbolizing the historical connections and ongoing cooperation between the two nations. During the visit, personnel from both navies will participate in joint training exercises focused on navigational skills, effective Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) surveillance, and various operational drills including damage control and firefighting. Additionally, INS Savitri will engage in community outreach through a medical camp for locals and activities such as Yoga sessions and friendly sports matches, fostering goodwill and camaraderie. This engagement underscores India’s strategic efforts to strengthen military diplomacy and enhance regional security through collaborative initiatives.
