Two more sentenced in Visakhapatnam Navy espionage case linked to Pakistan.

Two more individuals have been sentenced to over five years in prison in connection with the Pakistan-linked Visakhapatnam Navy espionage case, bringing the total convictions to six. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that Kalavalapalli Konda Babu and Aviansh Somal were involved in sharing sensitive military information and had established contact with foreign intelligence agencies, initially through social media. These activities aimed to undermine India’s security and sovereignty, as they received monetary compensation for classified information. The case underscores the persistent threat of espionage activities that challenge India’s defense integrity, highlighting the importance of vigilance and robust counterintelligence efforts within the country.
