India and Belarus have enhanced their bilateral ties through high-level diplomatic engagements aimed at expanding commerce and sectoral linkages. The recent eighth round of Foreign Office Consultations in Minsk, led by Indian Secretary (West) Sibi George, focused on political, economic, cultural, and educational cooperation, along with regional security matters. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to diversify trade and foster long-term economic relations, with discussions highlighting India’s support for a multipolar international framework. This partnership, rooted in mutual respect since Belarus’s independence, reflects India’s strategic interests in strengthening ties with Eastern European nations, thereby reinforcing its diplomatic footprint in the region and enhancing its global diplomatic engagements.
