Maoist ordnance factory dismantled in Sukma, showcasing declining insurgent capabilities.

Security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district uncovered a significant Maoist ordnance factory during a raid, seizing 17 country-made rifles and various weapon-making materials. The District Reserve Guard (DRG) located the well-camouflaged workshop, indicating a sophisticated operation rather than a makeshift setup. This operation underscores a notable decline in Maoist capabilities, with 563 weapons recovered over the past ten months and the killings of 249 Maoists, including key leaders. The situation demonstrates a shift in the Maoist ranks, where fear is now driving defections and surrender, indicating a tactical advantage for Indian security forces in combating insurgency in the region.
