India Hosts 3rd Maritime Information Sharing Workshop for Security Cooperation
The Maritime Information Sharing Workshop (MISW-25) concluded in Gurugram, India, on November 4, 2025, focusing on enhancing real-time coordination and information sharing in the Indian Ocean Region. Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti emphasized the need for collaboration and interoperability among 57 participants from 30 countries. The workshop highlighted India’s proactive maritime initiatives and the importance of regulatory alignment in addressing regional maritime security challenges. A Table Top Exercise using the indigenously developed Maritime Analytical Tool for Regional Awareness (MANTRA) was scheduled for November 5, simulating responses to piracy, drug smuggling, and other maritime threats. This initiative underscores India’s commitment to fostering regional security and cooperation, crucial for ensuring maritime stability in a strategically significant area.
