Indian Navy to acquire an indigenous vessel every 40 days, says Admiral Tripathi.

The Indian Navy is significantly enhancing its capabilities, adding one new indigenous warship or submarine every 40 days, according to Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi. By 2035, the Navy aims to operate over 200 vessels, reinforcing its commitment to self-reliance, synergy, and security. Admiral Tripathi emphasized that this focus extends beyond platforms to include components, highlighting India’s defense production growth, which has tripled in the last decade. He articulated a vision of proactive maritime partnerships based on shared principles rather than mere convenience, aligning with India’s broader goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047. This strategic direction underscores India’s resolve to strengthen its geopolitical position and enhance regional security through indigenous capabilities and collaborative efforts.
