Geopolitics and Security Alliances

Pak Defence Minister claims India seeks to distract Pakistan on borders.

In a recent interview, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif accused India of waging a proxy war to keep Pakistan occupied along its borders, echoing a long-standing narrative aimed at deflecting attention from Islamabad’s internal and external challenges. His remarks followed a ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan, brokered with support from Qatar and Turkiye, intended to ease border tensions. Asif claimed that India’s actions have resulted in setbacks on the eastern front, further asserting that proof of India’s alleged interference would be presented if necessary. This situation underscores the persistent complexities of South Asian geopolitics, where accusations and counter-accusations shape diplomatic narratives and security strategies amidst ongoing regional instability.
