DRDO signs 12 technology transfer agreements to boost defense indigenization at SAMANVAY 2025.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) handed over 12 Licensing Agreements for Transfer of Technology (LATOTs) covering eight advanced defence products to industry partners during the inaugural session of SAMANVAY 2025, held in Bengaluru on October 29, 2025. This two-day industry synergy meet, organized by DRDO’s Electronics and Communication Systems Cluster, brought together over 150 participants including startups, MSMEs, and established defence firms. The LATOTs include cutting-edge technologies such as the D-29 Electronic Warfare Suite, NATSAT Handheld and Mini Terminals, the Sarang Electronic Support Measure System, and the Dolphin-II, among others. These transfers signify a major boost to India’s defence indigenization and the Make in India initiative, enabling rapid scaling and production by private and public sector partners. DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V. Kamat emphasized the partnership between DRDO and industry to translate research innovations into deployable capabilities, fostering a self-reliant defence manufacturing ecosystem aimed at global competitiveness and export potential. The event highlights DRDO’s unwavering commitment to reducing import dependence and advancing indigenous technological superiority for India’s armed forces.
