Sri Lankan Navy rescues 14 crew, including 9 Indians, from vessel.

The Sri Lankan Navy successfully rescued 14 crew members, including nine Indian nationals, from the merchant vessel MV Integrity Star following an engine failure approximately 100 nautical miles south of Sri Lanka. The distress call was received on October 25, 2025, prompting swift deployment of the naval vessel SLNS Samudura under the Ministry of Defence’s directives. The rescue was coordinated by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Colombo, assisted by the nearby merchant vessel MV Morning Glory. The rescued crew, which also included Turkish and Azerbaijani nationals, were safely brought to the Hambantota International Port on October 26.
