21 Naxals surrender in Kanker, handing over 18 weapons, including AK-47s.

In a significant move towards peace and stability in Chhattisgarh, 21 Maoist cadres surrendered in Kanker district, handing over 18 weapons, including AK-47s, to authorities. This act is part of the ‘Poona Margem: Rehabilitation through Reintegration’ initiative, underscoring the proactive measures taken by the Bastar Range police. Notably, the group included high-ranking members such as Division Committee Secretary Mukesh and thirteen women ultras. Earlier in October, 210 Naxalites had also surrendered in Jagdalpur along with a substantial cache of weapons, indicating a weakening of Maoist resolve in the region. These developments highlight the effectiveness of the Indian government’s strategy in countering insurgency and promoting rehabilitation, fostering hope for long-term peace in affected areas.
