India unveils twin-tube BrahMos mobile launcher, enhancing missile production and strike capabilities.
India marked a major milestone in its defense manufacturing with the unveiling of a twin-tube BrahMos mobile missile launcher at the newly established BrahMos Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow. This state-of-the-art facility, part of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, aims to significantly boost BrahMos missile production, targeting an annual output of 300 units to enhance both domestic arsenal and export potential to allied nations. The twin-tube mobile launcher, inspired by Russia’s Bastion system, enhances India’s rapid deployment and strike capabilities across diverse terrains. The supersonic BrahMos missile, capable of precise long-range strikes at speeds nearing Mach 3, has proven its strategic value through recent operational deployments like Operation Sindoor, underscoring its role as a cornerstone of India’s precision strike triad. The missile’s production at Lucknow, which began full operations within five months of its May 2025 inauguration, highlights India’s progress in indigenous defense manufacturing. Alongside expanding production, India is nearing export deals with ASEAN countries, strengthening its defense diplomacy amid strategic regional competition. This development not only solidifies India’s deterrence posture but also positions it as a key global defense player focused on the Indo-Pacific region.
