Operation Sindoor showcases India's readiness to tackle global challenges, says Defence Minister.
In a recent address at the Naval Commanders Conference, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the strategic significance of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a powerful demonstration of India’s military preparedness and tri-service coordination that has left Pakistan reeling from its impact. He highlighted the Indian Navy’s vital role in maintaining security in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), asserting that its presence serves as a deterrent against destabilizing forces while enhancing India’s stature as a reliable maritime partner. Singh noted that nearly 67% of the Navy’s capital acquisitions now come from domestic sources, underscoring the success of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative aimed at achieving self-reliance in defense. Additionally, he stressed the importance of civil-military fusion to leverage technological advancements for military applications, asserting that this integration is crucial for strengthening national security in an era of hybrid warfare. The discussions during the conference focused on enhancing operational readiness, boosting indigenization efforts, and reinforcing partnerships within the defense ecosystem, which collectively aim to ensure India’s strategic autonomy amidst evolving global challenges. This concerted effort reflects India’s commitment to not only bolster its defense capabilities but also to contribute to regional stability and security, emphasizing the importance of innovation and collaboration in the contemporary geopolitical landscape.
