DRDO collaborates with Sagar Defence to develop advanced UXOR for IAF's safety and efficiency.

In a significant advancement for India’s defense capabilities, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has partnered with Sagar Defence Engineering to mass-produce the Unexploded Ordnance Handling Robot (UXOR) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). This indigenous technological breakthrough enables safe handling of explosive devices weighing up to 1,000 kilograms, enhancing safety during bomb disposal operations. The UXOR features remote operation capabilities up to 2 kilometers and boasts six hours of battery life, ensuring effective deployment in diverse terrains. Given rising geopolitical tensions and the legacy of unexploded munitions, the UXOR represents a crucial tool that minimizes risks to personnel, thereby allowing the IAF to maintain focus on strategic objectives while enhancing operational efficiency in explosive ordnance disposal tasks.
