Afghanistan asserts independent ties with India, rebuffs Pakistan's allegations.

Afghanistan’s Defense Minister Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid has dismissed Pakistan’s allegations of India’s involvement in regional tensions as unfounded and illogical, emphasizing Kabul’s commitment to independent foreign relations and strengthening ties with India based on national interests. He advocated for improved Afghanistan-Pakistan relations founded on mutual respect, while addressing concerns over increasingly violent border clashes attributed to the Pakistani Taliban. Mujahid reiterated Afghanistan’s non-support for armed groups against any country, including Pakistan, and urged adherence to international agreements like the Doha pact. This development underscores Afghanistan’s intention to forge its diplomatic path amidst regional challenges, potentially enhancing India’s strategic position in South Asia by solidifying its partnership with Kabul.
