On October 18, 2025, the Indian Navy launched the sixth Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC), named BY 528 (Magdala), at Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi. This vessel, part of an eight-ship program, boasts over 80% indigenous content and features advanced capabilities such as a Hull Mounted Sonar, Low Frequency Variable Depth Sonar, and a suite of torpedoes and rockets, enhancing India’s underwater defense.
