Tejas MkII Enters Avionics Integration Phase Ahead of First Flight
India’s Tejas MkII fighter jet development has advanced into the avionics integration phase, marking a significant milestone as the first prototype shifts from airframe assembly to electronic systems integration. This critical phase sets the foundation for upcoming ground testing and engine runs, with the first flight anticipated in early 2026. The Tejas MkII will feature advanced avionics, including a next-generation mission computer and electronic warfare suites, and is poised to replace older jets like the Jaguar and Mirage-2000. With six squadrons already committed by the Indian Air Force, the Tejas MkII is integral to modernizing India’s aerial capabilities and enhancing its defense readiness in the coming years.
