DroneAcharya wins INR 1.09 crore contract for 180 FPV drones.

DroneAcharya Aerial Innovation has secured a significant contract worth INR 1.09 crore from the Indian Army for the supply of 180 First-Person View (FPV) drones, marking a pivotal milestone in the company’s trajectory within the defense sector. The contract, awarded on October 16, 2025, involves a phased delivery plan where the first batch of 60 drones is expected by April 2026, followed by additional deliveries in July and October of the same year. Following the announcement of this order, shares of DroneAcharya experienced a substantial upsurge, rising over 15% on the Bombay Stock Exchange, illustrating market confidence in the company’s technological capabilities and potential for future growth. Despite recent financial challenges, including a reported net loss of INR 15.1 crore in H2 FY25, the contract demonstrates a shift towards bolstering domestic defense manufacturing capabilities, aligning with India’s broader strategic initiatives to enhance self-reliance in defense technologies. This development not only signifies a validation of DroneAcharya’s innovation in drone technology but also underscores the increasing importance of private sector engagement in India’s defense procurement, which could pave the way for more substantial contracts and collaborations in the evolving defense landscape.
