Rajnath highlights Operation Sindoor, BrahMos as proof of India's defense self-reliance.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently highlighted the success of Operation Sindoor and the BrahMos missile integration with the Su-30MKI as pivotal in showcasing India’s self-reliance in defense. He noted that the country has transformed from importing 65-70% of military hardware to manufacturing about 65% domestically, with production targets set to reach Rs 3 lakh crore and exports Rs 50,000 crore by 2029. Singh emphasized the importance of technological innovation in next-generation aircraft and unmanned systems, reinforcing India’s commitment to maintaining a competitive edge in modern warfare. The operational success of indigenous platforms not only underscores India’s growing defense capabilities but also marks a significant shift towards a self-sufficient defense ecosystem, vital for national security and geopolitical resilience.
