CERT-In Warns of Zoom Security Flaws Allowing Unauthorized Access

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a vulnerability note regarding security flaws in specific versions of Zoom across various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android. These vulnerabilities, rated “medium” severity, could allow hackers unauthorized access to Zoom Rooms, disclose sensitive information, and execute harmful commands. Notably, the flaws stem from improper input sanitization and inadequate session validation. However, Zoom has addressed these issues in a patch released on October 14, urging users to update their software to safeguard against potential cyberattacks. This incident underscores the importance of cybersecurity in protecting sensitive organizational data, highlighting the ongoing challenges posed by increasing cyber threats in the digital communication landscape.
