HAL Outsources Tejas Mk2 Development for Enhanced Certification and Antenna Analysis

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has initiated a three-year outsourcing agreement for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk2, focusing on critical EMI/EMC certification and advanced antenna development. This strategic move aims to expedite the Mk2’s timeline, addressing the complexities of modern electronic warfare and ensuring robust interoperability with Indian Air Force (IAF) networks. Outsourced firms will conduct extensive testing and validation, employing advanced simulations to enhance the aircraft’s communication capabilities. By leveraging external expertise, HAL not only alleviates its workload but also fosters innovation, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. This outsourcing model is significant as it enhances indigenous defense capabilities while ensuring the successful induction of the Tejas Mk2 into operational service by 2026.
