India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is advancing the RudraM-III, a hypersonic missile designed for the Indian Air Force’s Su-30MKI jets, significantly enhancing long-range strike capabilities and self-reliance in military technologies. This missile excels as an air-launched anti-radiation weapon, capable of detecting and neutralizing enemy radar and communication systems at hypersonic speeds exceeding Mach 5, thus facilitating effective Suppression of Enemy Air Defences (SEAD) missions. Recently, successful integration trials confirmed compatibility with the Su-30MKI, and full operational clearance is expected by 2027. The RudraM-III will bolster India’s strategic deterrence and operational readiness in contested regions, marking a pivotal advancement in the nation’s defense landscape.
