Indian Army to Host UN Troop Contributing Countries Conclave in 2025
The Indian Army is set to host the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries (UNTCC) Chiefs Conclave in New Delhi from October 14 to 16, 2025, convening senior military leaders from 32 nations, emphasizing India’s significant role in global peacekeeping efforts. With China and Pakistan notably absent from the event, India aims to enhance the collective voice of troop-contributing nations within the UN’s peacekeeping framework, which has increasingly been influenced by countries contributing fewer troops. The conclave will address operational challenges, interoperability, technology, and training practices essential for effective peacekeeping missions, showcasing India’s commitment to multilateral collaboration and stability. Participating nations will include Algeria, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Brazil, and others, with sessions designed to feed into broader UN deliberations on adapting peacekeeping strategies to emerging security threats. This initiative not only reinforces India’s status as one of the largest contributors to UN missions but also reflects its evolving defense diplomacy and dedication to fostering international partnerships for peace and security.
