DRDO advances FUFA program with finalized design and wind tunnel tests.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has made significant advancements in its Futuristic Unmanned Fighter Aircraft (FUFA) program, finalizing the aircraft’s configuration and successfully completing its Preliminary Design Review (PDR). The stealthy twin-engine UCAV is designed for autonomous operations in contested environments, featuring a tailless flying-wing design and advanced capabilities for deep-strike missions and air-to-air engagements. Wind tunnel testing has commenced at the National Aerospace Laboratories, focusing on optimizing performance and stealth. This initiative, aimed at achieving over 80% indigenous content, underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology and enhances the Indian Air Force’s operational capabilities in the Indo-Pacific, positioning FUFA as a pivotal player in modern air warfare.
