Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate a national conference on Defence Manufacturing in Delhi, emphasizing India’s substantial defence production growth, now at Rs 1.46 lakh crore, with exports reaching a record Rs 24,000 crore in 2024-25. The conference aims to enhance coordination between the Ministry of Defence and state governments, aligning regional policies with national self-reliance goals. Singh will launch two significant digital portals: the Defence Exim Portal for streamlining export processes and the Srijan DEEP platform showcasing Indian defence capabilities. This initiative underscores the importance of ‘Make in India’ for national security, reflecting India’s advancing role in the global defence sector.
